After much experimenting, CaluTech has come up with yet another breakthrough in keeping your air clean!  While the old Snapcat strips were good, they only worked when illuminated by UV-C lighting.  Enter the new Snapcat strips with Oxycat II.  This breakthrough innovation uses a titanium dioxode formula that now works with any available flourescent light source.  When illuminated by UV-C light, the strips will kill viruses, bacteria, VOC’s, etc.  When illuminated by a standard light source, the strips will kill VOC’s.  This is a very inexpensive way to purify the air in your home.  Just attach them to a light source and enjoy the benefits.  More info to follow during the first part of 2011 so stay tuned.  For more info on Snapcat and Oxycat II, go to www.centralstatescleanair.com/Pages/uv-in-duct-air-purifier-snapcat.htm and www.centralstatescleanair.com/Pages/uv-in-duct-air-purifier-snapcat.htm.

What are VOC’s?
VOCs are gases given off by a number of indoor sources.

Formaldehyde is one of the most common VOCs. It is common in many building materials such as plywood, particleboard, and glues. Formaldehyde is also found in furnishings (furniture, drapes and carpets) and in some types of foam insulation. Other sources of VOCs and formaldehyde include burning of fuels: gas, wood, kerosene, and tobacco products. VOCs also come from personal care products such as perfumes and hair spray, from cleaning agents and dry cleaning fluid, paints, lacquers and varnishes, and from copying and printing machines.

VOCs can be released from a product for several years, though the amounts given off tend to be less as the product ages and “dries out”.

VOCs can cause irritation of the eyes, nose and throat, nausea and dizziness, and skin problems. Higher amounts can cause irritation of the lungs and wheezing. Higher exposures to formaldehyde may also cause memory problems and anxiety.

As of 10/18/2010, the Oxycat sleeves have been discontinued.  Replacing the sleeves are the new model of Snapcat Strips utilizing the formula in the sleeves but applied to the Snapcat strips.  This allows for a more versatile use of the strips on many different types of lamps where as the sleeves were designed to fit only the bulbs they came on.  Go here to read more about this new technology we are now using. www.centralstatescleanair.com/pages/uv-in-duct-air-purifier-snapcat.htm

You should be.  This can be a very dangerous virus if you fall into the correct category.  Our UV air purifiers WILL kill this virus, as it is very similar in molecular structure to the common flu virus, meaning it takes the same amount of UV-C to kill it as it does the normal flu virus, which ours does.

Here is an actual install of one of our Blue units.  Normal installation only takes about 30 minutes.  All you need is a drill, a hole bit that cuts a 1.5 - 2 inch hole and a screwdriver.  Thats it!
